Spain’s favorite golfing son, Seve Ballesteros was a swashbuckling major champion who played the game with tremendous flair and passion. He entered design in the 1980s, founding the company Trajectory or Natural Golf Design under the umbrella of the Seve Ballesteros company. Strangely, the design work we have seen from this firm displays none of the style or character of its founder, and in fact courses like Alhaurín Golf and Country Club near Malaga and Crans-Sur-Sierre (redesign) are rather dull and awkwardly routed across the site. The additional nine holes Ballesteros designed at his home club of Pedrena in Spain is better, but again the actual hazard arrangement and design lacks genuine creativity.
